Biological activity: Juglone is a yellow dye found in Juglansregia of black walnut, which has antibacterial ability.

Chemical property: yellow acicular crystal. The melting point is 155 ℃. Easily soluble in chloroform and benzene, soluble in alcohol and ether, soluble in alkali solution, purplish red, slightly soluble in hot water. It can sublimate and volatilize with water vapor.

Usage: Juglandin has hemostatic and antibacterial activities, and has also been used to treat eczema, psoriasis and tinea. As a pH indicator.
