Purpose Neohesperidin dihydrochalcone is a dihydrochalcone flavonoid compound prepared by hydrogenation of neohesperidin. In 1963, researchers Horowits and others first discovered that neohesperidin dihydrochalcone has a strong sweet taste. It is characterized by high sweetness, low heat, slow sweetness, long time, good stability and non-toxicity. In 1997, it was listed in China's "Hygienic Standard for the Use of Food Additives". The emergence of neohesperidin dihydrochalcone brought good news to the use of sugar by diabetics and middle-aged and elderly people. At present, it is widely used in food, feed and medicine industries.

Application in the pharmaceutical industry: dihydrochalcone compounds have a variety of physiological and pharmacological activities. By studying their structure-activity relationship and modifying them, new drugs with important value can be developed. Studies have found that dihydrochalcones have certain effects on the treatment of diabetes. In addition, dihydrochalcone compounds have antioxidant pharmacophore, 2,6-dihydroxyacetophenone structure, which is achieved by eliminating peroxide and hydroxyl free radicals.


Application in food industry: dihydrochalcone new sweeteners are one of the most attractive and mature natural sweeteners at present. According to research, the young fruit and peel of aromatic citrus contain dihydroflavonoid compounds, which have no sweet taste, but can be turned into dichemicalbook hydrocharone glycoside under appropriate conditions, which can show sweet taste. Its sweetness is higher than saccharin, cyclamate or aspartame and other commonly used sweeteners, which is usually equivalent to 100-1000 times the sweetness of sucrose and 3-5 times that of saccharin. Dihydrocharone sweeteners have a refreshing taste and a lasting aftertaste, and have excellent effect of shielding withering. At present, Dihydrocharone has been widely used in the food industry as a sweetener or corrector. When used alone as an artificial sweetener, its added concentration is 15-20mg. When mixed with other sweeteners, especially with saccharin, it can produce excellent synergy. In addition, dihydrochalcone sweeteners can also be used in alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, appetizers, tomato sauce, mayonnaise and other commodities.
