Overview: Siraitigagrosvenorii (Swingle) C. Jeffery is a vine of the genus Siraitia of Cucurbitaceae, mainly produced in Guilin, Guangxi, and also distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangdong, Hunan and other places. The mature siraitia grosvenorii fruit has a sweet taste and is mainly rich in cucurbitane-type tetracyclic triterpenoid saponins, of which mogroside V (mogroside V) is the main sweet ingredient, and the dry weight content can reach 1.6%. At present, siraitin extracted from siraitia grosvenorii fruit has been widely used in beverage and food additive industry as an ideal low-calorie natural sweetener.
